Don Moroz

Don Moroz is a seasoned executive with a unique demonstrated track record in the financial services industry and the public sector in North America and overseas. His diverse experiences range from Deputy Minister of four different departments for the Government of Saskatchewan to managing the national branch network for Avco Financial Services USA (900 branches / 5000 employees / $15 billion in receivables); from planning and implementing foreign aid projects in Africa to transforming struggling unprofitable consumer finance businesses in Korea and the Philippines into high performing organizations. He has been a corporate banker (leadership of debt trusteeship and stock transfer businesses) and a consumer banker ( responsible for all IT, middle office and back office functions).

His most recent assignment was with CitiFinancial International, based in Dallas, Texas, where he provided operational oversight to 15 international business units in Europe, Asia and South America. This included the establishment of sound business processes and practices, the mentoring of senior executives and the formulation of transformative business strategies.

Moroz describes his leadership style as “hands on but flexible”. He has consistently shown the ability to foster individual responsibility and teamwork across an organization, and to create a guiding coalition across cultures. To quote a former supervisor, the CEO of Avco Canada, “one of Don’s greatest strengths is getting the best out of vexatious people through his democratic personality and style of leadership”. This was a critical factor in successfully managing through three difficult transitions – the integration of Royal Trust into Royal Bank in 1993, the integration of Avco USA into The Associates in 1998, and the integration of The Associates branch network into CitiFinancial in 2001. In all three cases the corporate culture of the acquiring company was very different from that of the acquired company.

Don and wife Joanne have their primary residence in Florida but spend their summers in Ontario as their children and grandchildren all live in the greater Toronto area.

His objective is to identify short term project / consulting opportunities where he can use his extensive and varied experience and expertise to solve problems and add value for companies, agencies and organizations in both the public and private sectors in North America and overseas.

Don can be contacted by E-Mail at or by telephone at 352.610.0016.

The following comments are for Engagient's Employee Engagement Seminar for Managers

We needed to communicate the value of fully engaged employees to our managers and supervisors, and without a doubt, Engagient’s seminar on Employee Engagement clearly told the story. Our entire management staff now understands the value to our business in having a fully engaged workforce. Engagient made sure we had the necessary tools to move forward and we now believe this will help us differentiate ourselves against our competitors.

Don’s delivery is exceptionally engaging, straight forward, and in my experience one of the best facilitators/presenters I’ve worked with. Our junior and mid-level managers were engaged the entire day and they are definitely now on-board with our new initiative. He did an exceptional job in framing the issues, and he was able to link it closely with our company’s core values on this topic.
